We just had an AWESOME First Wednesday service here at NewSpring… and GOD MOVED. Have you ever felt God move? If you haven’t… it’s something you need to experience!
Just the other day God really laid it on my heart to pray for the Clemson football team… and NO, I am not talking about praying for victories or football related things. I am talking about praying for their spiritual lives.
In yesterday’s post, I told y’all how I was talking to Daniel about football and Jesus… Daniel was telling me about a certain football player, who’s father has told him from the get go that he doesn’t need church and doesn’t need God… all he needs is football. The reason I am keeping the name anonymous is because, it’s here-say, it may or may not be true… and I don’t want to spread any rumors. Well as we were talking God really laid it on my heart to pray for the football team, because I am sure that many of players have similar parents that don’t care about religion… all they care about is their son making a team, and eventually making them some money. So I do what I normally do when God tells me to do something… I form a committee, pray over the committee and take a vote… NOT REALLY… I JUST DO IT (NIKE). When God tells you to do something, you DO IT. Plain and simple. Like if you’re out eating dinner and God lays it on your heart to pay for someone’s meal… just do it. God’s always right, I promise you that… it may be hard to believe, but he’s also smarter. <—- It took me a while to get that one down! So yesterday I prayed for the football players… I didn’t take out my Tiger Time or my Athlon Sports magazine and go through each player (however that would have been a good idea and very time consuming), but I did pray for the guys. I simply just prayed that God would open their hearts to HIM. I personally have ZERO connections with the football team… other than the fact that I am in Tiger Band… and the football team just thinks we are a bunch of band geeks… so it’s not really a connection. So the only way to these guys is through prayer and Jesus.
And for those of you that are skeptics about prayer… CHECK THIS OUT… Tonight, two Clemson football players accepted Christ at NewSpring. You tell me if prayer works? You can argue up and down that it’s all coincidence… and that’s a load of BULL. It was Jesus Christ. I didn’t say all of that to “toot” my own whistle… I said all of that to show you that PRAYER works! “Nothing but the blood of Jesus”.
God you are Awesome! You rock my world… more than anything else! You never cease to Amaze and you’re always with us!
