Brad over at Agent Orange Headquarters wrote THIS POST. As I read the post I couldn’t help but think about the local top radio station, The Drive 104.9fm, and how every day they have a “poll” of some sort that’s kinda like this… “What would you rather have? A 10 win football season or A College World Series Title?
Quite frankly, I am about sick of the question.
I want a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and I WANT A COLLEGE WORLD SERIES TITLE. That’s what every fan should want… I know its a hypothetical situation but give me a break.
Another frequent poll question is… “Would you rather have a 9 or 10 win football season and NO College World Series Title or Would you settle for a 7-5 football team and a College World Series Title?” Once again, how about both?
I am HUGE football fan… but I am also a big CLEMSON FAN. I had a friend, BISHOP, that challenged me to pick a team and stay with them. I used to be a big UNC Tarheel Fan. Bishop and I got into a big argument because I told him I pulled of the Tar Heels during Basketball season and Clemson during the football season… he cursed me up one wall and down the other. He told me that if Clemson had a chess team, he’d be pulling for them hardcore, hootin and hollering like he was at a football game… so from that day forth, I became a die hard Clemson fan. I still love the Tar Heels, but when they play Clemson, I’m pulling for Clemson and even in the Tourney, I’m pulling for Clemson (not that we are there that much, but still).
I just wanted to see if talk radio was all about this “scenario” poll in your area… whether it be about Clemson, or some other College.
