I was in one of the care team rooms the other day, looking through the collection of books they have for care team meetings, and I came across a book that caught my attention… and I even wondered why it was at this church
Billy Graham Christian Workers: Handbook
Why in the world do we have this book here? That was the first thing that popped in my head… I judged a book by it's cover. Well I took the book into my office and started reading through it… and it's very interesting. It's not a book that reads well… it's like a text book actually. It's a topical guide with Biblical answers. It goes over things like: Abortion, Abuse, Abusive People, Adultery, AIDS, Alcoholism, ANGER, Anxiety… and that's just the A's. It's "help" book… but not for yourself, for others. How many of us know someone that's ANGRY? Abused? Alcoholic? Had an Abortion? It's very helpful. The book goes through how to talk to the person and gives scriptures to share with them… Talks about how to tell someone about SALVATION, JESUS, GOD, ASSURANCE… I judged this book way too soon. If you're wondering why I judged it, well it's because Billy Graham is just not the style of preacher that I like. Yeah, he's probably one of the best Evangelist of our generation, but the dude just does nothing for me… I stereotyped him as King James version and BORING.
I am willing to bet that God got this book to catch my attention for a reason… that reason has yet to be seen, but I am guessing someone will come into my life that will be asking me questions, that before I read this book I couldn't answer, but now after reading it, I may be able to… then again maybe not, maybe it's just for the heck of it. GOD IS AWESOME. JESUS CHRIST IS AWESOME…
I am OUT. Welcome back to the home front Rochford.
